Get Ready for Winter
Protect yourself while throwing snow
Now, thankfully I live in central California, where the only trace of snow is some frost on the lawn in January. But, I've certainly earned the right to share "walk to school uphill through the snow both ways" stories while growing up in the Boston, MA area. I remember, in vivid detail, having to roll the window down while driving to catch the wiper as it passed by in order to knock off the frozen snow and rain, just so I could see. I've even been pushed off the highway a few times by those monster snow plows while trying to navigate a rear-wheel drive Cougar through the shredded ice rink called 495.
But, I've NEVER seen this:
This guy looks ridiculous.
I've also never heard of the term "throwing snow." I guess it's a bit more "safe" than the term "blowing snow" (which would be the logical way to explain the act of using a snow-blower). But I digress, do you really need this much protection from the snow you are throwing to clear a 2-foot wide path from your front door to the driveway?
If a neighbor strapped this get-up on, and proceeded to "snow-throw" his driveway, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to resist pelting his snow armor with snowballs... I mean C'mon, he's asking for it!
Luckily, it doesn't snow here.
