Granny Sunglasses On Teen Girls
Why is this trend popular? You look ridiculous!
I know you've seen them. Take a stroll through your local mall and you'll see the ultra-trendy teenage girls wearing those absolutely silly-looking sunglasses that cover half their face. We can thank Paris Hilton and other brilliant socialites for this trend. Too bad they weren't actually the trendsetters.
That's right, Granny did it first. For about 10 years now, at every sunny park and church parking lots across the country, you see elderly women wearing those same damn sunglasses that these Abercrombie girls are sporting. Do they realize this? Probably not, but it is definitely true. Every time I see somebody wearing these type of sunglasses, I immediately associate them with those Terminator-style Granny glasses.
 Elvis, too. Imagine if he was still alive, doing the Vegas shows with those round, feminine glasses? That trend would NEVER have materialized. Just look how awful those look! The bedazzled jumpsuit should be our first clue that Elvis' wardrobe choices were a little lacking in taste. Take a hint ladies, stop wearing the trendy over-sized sunglasses.
Perhaps the larger glasses are meant to take our attention away from the leathery texture of their artifically tanned skin? It very well may be true. Women who wear these glasses typically have the whole package going: orange colored leather tan, white tank top, $2000 purse, impractical high heels, and attitude-laden lips puckered out (see photo below).
